When you see someone's new baby and it's super ugly what do you say? You can't say it's cute because you'd be lying (and they can probably tell) so what's the best thing to say? So far I've gone with

"Ohhhh look. A baby."

Any suggestions?

So...

Omegle freaks me out.

Like woah.

I haven't posted anything useful in a while.  Sorry about that.

But you know what?  Today I read a memo from my ambulance company about how we can be suspended for INAPPROPRIATE FACEBOOK STATUS UPDATES.

Really?  I'm glad you totally have nothing better to do than look at my Facebook page.

Apparently there was an incident where someone put a joke or some lyrics about drugs or something as their status update.  This caused some "random" drug testing and ultimately some people were suspended or something.  I know this is a public place, and yeah, sure the kid probably shouldn't have done that.  But really?  I did end up deleting my superiors as Facebook friends, which I know my updates aren't inappropriate anyway... but it's just the fear that I can lose my job for a few words on the internet.

What do you think... is this too far or just right?

Either way... HELLO CURRENT AND FUTURE EMPLOYERS!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  I'm studying right now and tomorrow I'm going to church to help nuns cross the busy street.

Also,  I miss Vicki and Eve and think you should come over soon! :-)

Dear Hockey Fans...

So after I was finished working at the Arena after the Sabres game, I was walking to the ambulance with my group.  There was a crowd of people to mash my way though near the security office, so I just went for it.  I walked between a couple people talking and said "I'm sorry, excuse me" and kept walking.

Little did I know that I walked right between Ryan Miller and Wayne Gretzky. Yeah... so, I probably should have had a hockey-gasm at that minute... but I was in my own little world.  I COULD HAVE BEEN A RACHEL SANDWICH WITH NHL BREAD!  Haha also, Teppo Numminen caught Mike sitting on my lap in the back of the ambulance and made a stupid comment when he stuck his head in. That was pretty great.

I love my job!

Thanks, I just had to share.

So since I've gotten the ice cream machine for my birthday from my Mom, I've been making a lot of home-made treats.  About a month ago, I attempted green tea flavor, but was unsuccessful.  The recipe I got was a vegan recipe from some website and I threw it out before the batch was even finished.  I finally got the courage to make the real stuff.... 5 egg yolks, matcha powder, and all.  It was an involved process that included tempering eggs, taking temperatures, waiting 12 hours, and spilling stuff all over my stove.

Totally worth it.  Mmmmm.

It was almost as good as the one we get in the restaurant, and was really not that expensive to make.  That tea-hippie store that Jennet and I went to (remember fish rage day?)  has a TON of teas and weird whole spices and herbal medicines in bulk, so I think i paid 55 cents for the powder.

I also am making low-fat coffee toffee ice cream, but currently my machine core is still in the freezer getting frozen again.  I'll tell you how it goes... but I just wanted to share the success I had with the green tea.  I will definitely make some for you guys when we visit or I'll just bring the ice cream maker to you!!!

Now all I need is to find a good red-bean version...

So I've had this stuck in my head for the past ten minutes (for those that know it..... good luck forgetting it....)

UUUUGHHHHHH Haha   There has to be a better song to fall asleep to.

My little (twenty-one-year-old) brother is leaving tomorrow for Paul Smith's college.  Far far away, he will follow in my dad's footsteps as a forester.  It was weird going away from home, and this is his first time moving out to a dorm.  I'm so happy he finally almost figured out what he wants to do and will finish it.  I'm proud of him... I know it's not easy to know where you're going right away.  I hope he has a great time and I'll miss him... our singing MTVjams in the morning, fighting over who sits on the lazy boy rocking chair (MINE NOW!!) and meowing at each other in public places.   I'm sure I will go visit him up in college, like the times he came to visit me in Oz.

It is unfortunate, however, that I will NOT be wearing a bunny suit when I show up at his dorm room!

That was great though... maybe I will actually....

Today I went to Jennet's house to have some tea.  We got bored and decided to drive to Lockport to go to a tea shop/hippie store.  Contrary to the phone message we heard when we called, they were closed.  Good thing there was a pet store across the street.

When I walked in, I noticed it was one of those less-than-legal pet stores (it has a history.)

Ignoring the overwhelming stink, I went over to the fish side to see something that probably bothered me more than it should.  They were selling Tattooed Mollies in one of the tanks, and then some huge yellow fish in the other.  Tattooed fish.... apparently they now paint plain fish in order to sell them.  Really.  Some of them had hearts on them, flowers, or stripes.  The big yellow ones had patterns of diamonds on the side in different colors.  There were a few others that look like someone drew on them with a sharpie.  Yeah, so I really don't know why it bugged me to that level...  I AM SO FULL OF RAGE!!  I can't imagine they were "tattooed" in the water or what the process is.  I know Nick told me that some fish get their fins dipped in some chemical to change the color, but I can't imagine drawing on them... I'll look it up.

Ok, looked it up.  It's not illegal and it's pretty disturbing.

Now, I know I'm not like crazy OhMyGodMeatIsMurder kind of person, but this really makes me angry.  Ah well ok   I just thought I would let it out a bit, and now never buy any fish that I know is dyed.  Alright.
